Youth Activities

This weekend (20-21 February 2026) marked our second Journey of Faith. With a group of 13 participants from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Tabgha, it was our 17+ youth who set out together this time - young adults searching for direction, meaning, and belonging. Our path led us to Haifa and Nazareth.

On the weekend of January 30-31, 2026, sixteen young participants of the St. James Vicariate, from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Beer Sheva, gathered in Jerusalem for the first weekend of the Journey of Faith of the Vicariate. This opening encounter marked the beginning of a shared journey that will lead the youth through the different communities of the Vicariate across Israel.

On Friday, December 26th, 2025, the Notre Dame Center Auditorium in Jerusalem was filled with music, laughter, and the spirit of Christmas. The annual Kids Christmas Concert, titled Hand in Hand, brought together Hebrew- and Arabic-speaking children to celebrate the humble birth of Jesus through song and fellowship. The event began at 20:00, and admission was free for all.

From 16 to 19 December 2025, the Christmas Kaytana took place in the peaceful setting of Beit Noah, overlooking the Sea of Galilee. In this quiet and inspiring environment, young adults were invited to step away from everyday demands and enter more deeply into the meaning of Christmas: the wonder of the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ, who chooses closeness and humility.

On December 5–6 our young adults came together to Nazareth for a weekend of prayer, reflection, and fellowship. It was a beautiful opportunity to grow in faith and community. 

On December 6th, the Youth Ministry team of St. James was honored to be officially invited by the Arab-speaking Youth Ministry in the Galilee to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King in Nazareth. This first-time invitation to our Hebrew-speaking youth marked a meaningful step in building bridges between our youth ministries.

The Youth Festival of St. James Vicariate that took place on October 18th in Deir Rafat. As we informed On Saturday, October 18, nearly two hundred young people from across Israel, from Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Haifa, Nazareth, and the Galilee, gathered for the Youth Festival organized by the St. James Vicariate for Hebrew-Speaking Catholics.

Youth Festival at Deir Rafat: In a time marked by tension, uncertainty, and grief, the Marian Shrine of Deir Rafat became a place of radiant hope.

On Sunday, August 31st, the Youth Ministry Team had the unique opportunity to participate in an archaeological workshop held in the Antiquity Park in Ashkelon. This enriching experience combined history, hands-on learning, and fellowship in one of Israel’s most historically significant locations.

Last weekend (16-17.05.25) the Desert Flower Young Adults Group celebrated its Jubilee. The weekend in Tiberias marked by very hot weather was the last meeting in this pastoral year. We present short report from the event.

Last weekend (9-10.05.25) 14 young people from the Vicariate participated in the third "Journey of Hope". This time the destination was our community in Haifa. We present a short report from the event.

Last Tuesday (06.05.25), at the Church of the Redeemer in the Old City of Jerusalem, Pastor Ines Fischer and the Evangelical Congregation of German Language in Jerusalem hosted an evening gathering. Danielle Maman and Monika Faes shared insights about their work with children and youth without legal residency status.

Last weekend (14–15.03), at the facility of Community Jesus Brotherhood in Latroun took place a meeting for the Young Adults Group. Those who in age 25-35 want to dedicate their time to reflection, prayer, encounter with others and relax came from various places in Israel. We present a short overview of the weekend.

Thursday (02.01) was the day on which our Christmas Musical was presented at the Auditorium of Notre Dame Center in Jerusalem. Here is a short report from this remarkable event.

With hearts filled with joy, the St. James Vicariate warmly invites you to “Simha, the Angel Bringing Hope”, a delightful Christmas musical that celebrates the spirit of the season. This enchanting musical, starring children as the heart of the story, brings the wonder of Christmas to life in a way that uplifts and inspires.

The Desert Flower (25-35) group held its second meeting of the Pastoral year in Jerusalem over the weekend of November 15–16, 2024.

The last meeting of the Young Adults Group in this pastoral year took place in Tiberias on Friday and Saturday (21-22.06).

This past weekend (April 26-27), the vibrant "Young Adults" group of our community embraced a journey of faith and fellowship in the tranquil haven of Ein Karem. Amidst the historical echoes of this sacred place, individuals aged 25 to 35 gathered to continue their cherished tradition of spiritual growth and communal connection. The serene retreat was marked by moments of introspection, lively discussions, and a shared exploration of the profound cultural and religious tapestry that binds them. This article unfolds the story of their weekend, highlighting the enriching encounters and heartfelt gratitude extended to those who made this experience possible.

From 12th to 14th of December, the Christmas camp of St James Vicariate was held at the Deir Rafat Monastery for boys and girls aged 13+.
