Youth Camp Summer 2025 in Tiberias

From July 29 to August 1, 26 participants of St. James Vicariate from across the country gathered at the Sea of Galilee. We held our first-ever summer camp for young adults aged 17 to 20, a new step in our youth ministry journey.

In the heart of summer, we were given a gift:

Over four transformative days at the Casa Nova Guesthouse, we created space for rest, reflection, community, and a deeper encounter with Jesus.

Guided by Danielle and Monika, we were blessed by the pastoral presence of Fr. Benny as our Camp Chaplain as well as Fr. Apo, and Fr. Roman.

The retreat offered a rhythm of joyful fellowship and quiet depth. Each day began with open breakfast and morning prayer, followed by time for swimming, creative workshops, games, and personal reflection.

Evenings were sacred: we gathered for Adoration, shared deeply in journaling circles, and celebrated life with singing and storytelling.

A particularly moving moment came as Ezraela, Rievyn, Adam, and Prince courageously shared their personal life stories, testimonies of pain, growth, and faith that touched every heart in the room.

One unforgettable highlight was the night on the “Love Boat”, a worship boat that sailed us across the lake as we sang into the sunset, a powerful image of God’s presence, peace, and promise.

In the evening, we were honored by the presence of the Vicar of St. James, Fr. Piotr and Rabbi Oded, who joined us for a shared moment of dialogue and friendship.

On the final day, Fr. Piotr celebrated the Farewell Mass, inviting each participant to make a personal decision to walk closely with Jesus.

He also gave a special blessing to the new Youth Ministry Team: Ezraela, Adam, Katleen, Prince, Reigne, and Rievyen, sending them forth with trust and encouragement to serve their peers in the year ahead.

This retreat marked the beginning of something new:

a space where older youth can explore their identity, faith, and future in a supportive and spiritually grounded environment.

We are deeply grateful to all who made this possible. To make space for young people to grow, lead, and walk confidently with Jesus. Thank you very much to the community of Koinonia John the Baptist, Tiberias with Fr. Andrej, Daniel, Chiara, Steffi for their support, prayer and love.

We left with full hearts and renewed trust: Jesus walks with us.

See you again soon on the “Journey of Faith”!
