Priests' Retreat 2023

On October 2-5 the priests of SJV had their time of spiritual retreat. The exercises took place in the Neokatechumenal International Center Domus Galilaeae (click here).

The International Center “Domus Galilaeae”, is located near the summit of the hill known as the mount of the 'Beatitudes' which rises quite rapidly almost 300 meters above sea level, in front of Capernaum and Tabgah, the place of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes. Domus Galilaeae is situated about 1 Kilometer from the ruins of Korazim, on the so-called plateau of Korazim.

The spiritual retreat was prepared and guided by fr. Francesco Voltaggio. Francesco Giosuè Voltaggio (born in Rome, 1974) has a degree in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute of Rome (2002) and a doctorate in Biblical Sciences and Archeology from the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum of Jerusalem (2007). He later specialized in the study of modern Hebrew at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He has been rector and professor of Sacred Scripture and Judaism at the Redemptoris Mater Seminary of Galilee (2007-2017) and since 2017 he has been a Fidei Donum priest in the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The conferences during the retreat focused on the "hidden life" of Jesus in Nazareth.
