A Day of Unity and Hope in Nazareth

On December 6th, the Youth Ministry team of St. James was honored to be officially invited by the Arab-speaking Youth Ministry in the Galilee to celebrate the Feast of Christ the King in Nazareth. This first-time invitation to our Hebrew-speaking youth marked a meaningful step in building bridges between our youth ministries.

The Hebrew-speaking Youth Ministry was invited by the Arab-speaking Youth Ministry in the Galilee, led by Fr. Ramez Twal, to join their celebration in Nazareth. Celebrating the Holy Mass together, presided over by Bishop Rafic Nahra, became a profound sign of unity and a tangible expression of our shared faith in Jesus Christ.

This encounter is deeply connected to the Bridge-Building Youth Festival held earlier this year in October in Deir Rafat, a gathering that opened doors for new relationships and inspired around 200 young people to take active roles in strengthening the Church’s mission. For the St. James Vicariate, under the pastoral guidance of Patriarchal Vicar Fr. Piotr Zelazko, and with Monika Faes and Danielle Maman responsible for the Youth Ministry, this weekend was a significant encouragement, affirming the desire of our youth to walk together and serve as witnesses of hope.

Following the celebration, the group enjoyed the hospitality of Casa di Betharram and Nazareth’s Advent and Christmas atmosphere, a joyful reminder that the light of Christ continues to guide us as we meet, celebrate, and build one family in faith.
