Father Giuseppe: "Being a disciple of Christ"


We publish here elements from the talks given by Father Giuseppe during the retreat for the Vicariate priests that was held from September 20 to September 23, 2011.

- The disciple is a person in relationship:
The disciple is in intimate relationship with God as Father.
The disciple is in relationship with Jesus Christ as teacher.
The disciple is in relationship with the Holy Spirit as guide on the way.
The disciple is in relationship with others as brothers and sisters in community and outside it.
The disciple is in relationship with material things, a relationship defined by freedom.
The disciple is in relationship with him or herself.

- The relationship of the disciple with Jesus Christ as teacher is characterized by:
The disciple is personally called and chosen by the teacher.
The disciple sits at the feet of the teacher to learn.
The disciple listens to the voice of the teacher.
The disciple has faith in the teacher, trusts him and believes in him.
The disciple walks in the footsteps of the teacher.
The disciple obeys the teacher.
