Independence Day: State President’s reception
On Tuesday, May 6, 2014, President of Israel, Shimon Peres, welcomed the diplomatic corps and the religious leaders in Israel to his residence on the occasion of Independence Day.

As is his custom each year, President Shimon Peres welcomed the diplomats and religious leaders in Israel to his residence on the occasion of Israeli Independence Day. On this occasion, the President and the Foreign Minister address the audience. This year, it was Foreign Minister Mr. Avigdor Lieberman who addressed those present. He was followed by President Peres.
On this occasion, among those attending were Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos, Armenian Patriarch Noorhan, Latin Patriarchal Vicars Bishop Boulos Marcuzzo and Father David Neuhaus, Greek Catholic Archbishop Yusuf Zreyi, Anglican Bishop Suheil Diwani, Lutheran Bishop Mounib Younan and other church leaders.
