Sacrament of Confirmation in 2026

On Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, the Vicar of St. James Vicariate administered the Sacrament of Confirmation in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa. We give thanks for this day of grace and pray for all those who were newly confirmed, that the gifts of the Holy Spirit may guide and strengthen them in their Christian lives.

The celebrations began in Jerusalem, at the Ratisbonne Monastery, where Fr. Benedetto faithfully prepared a group of Filipino children to receive the sacrament. Through months of catechesis, prayer, and community life, the candidates deepened their understanding of faith and opened their hearts to the action of the Holy Spirit. The joyful celebration reflected the vitality of the Filipino Catholic community and their commitment to living the Gospel in the Holy Land.

The second celebration took place in Tel Aviv, at Our Lady Woman of Valor community. There, Br. Luca accompanied another group of Filipino children on their journey toward Confirmation. With dedication and pastoral care, he helped them grow in faith and readiness to receive the Spirit. The liturgy was filled with joy and gratitude, as families and friends gathered to support the newly confirmed members of the Church.

In the evening, the celebrations continued in Haifa, where two adults, prepared by Fr. Igino, received the Sacraments of Christian Initiation. They were baptized, received their First Holy Communion, and were confirmed in a moving and profound ceremony. Their journey of faith is a powerful witness to the grace of God at work in adult conversion and commitment.

This day across three cities reminded us of the unity of the Church and the diversity of its members. From children to adults, all who received the sacraments were strengthened to live as witnesses of Christ. We continue to pray for them, that the Holy Spirit may lead them always in faith, hope, and love.
