Remembering our sister Miriam in Jaffa
Today a year ago, our beloved sister Miriam Nothmann passed away. Together with the sisters from her congregation, members of the Jaffa kehilla gathered at the cemetery.

On January 31, 2012, Sister Miriam Nothmann of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of the Apparition passed away as the result of a car accident. Miriam was active for decades in the world of the kehillot, as a teacher, an educator, a listening ear and a spiritual advisor to many people. We miss her a lot.
Today, in stormy weather, heavy rains and strong winds, sisters from her congregation and members of the Jaffa Hebrew speaking kehilla gathered around Father Apolinary, responsible for the Jaffa kehilla and superior of the Franciscan monastery at Saint Peter’s Church, in order to mark one year since her death and to remember her. I would like to note that during the prayer the stormy weather brought down rain on our heads but the moment we finished the sun suddenly shone… as if Miriam was smiling at us from her seat in the heavens. May her memory be a source of blessing!
