A viola recital of Lexi Pеlton
On Monday (June, 28th) Lexi Pelton performed a viola recital as her BM Graduation at Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Lexi (born in 1998) was in the class of Professor Zvi Carmeli, a violist and conductor, graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music and the former Solo Violist of the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic who is the head of the Chamber Music Program. During the recital we could hear the works of J. S. Bach (Solo Suite No 2 in D-minor), Bartók (1st Movement of Viola Concerto) and Rebecca Clarke (all three parts of Sonata for Viola and Piano). The soloist was accompanied by Marina Sheivets.
At the end, as a surprise, Lexi invited her teacher to daringly perform together three of the Bartók's famous 44 Duos for Violin. It was worth the standing ovation. The concert was a crowning achievement of the young violist who will now start learning in US (in the Shepard's School of Music at Rice University in Houston). The Hebrew speaking Community congratulates Lexi Pelton and wishes her all the best in the future career. You made us very proud and we all hope to hear about you many more times. Thank you and Good Luck!
