A Journey That Continues: The Journey of Faith in Haifa and Nazareth
In Haifa, we were welcomed by the Kehilla and by Fr. Igino. The evening began with the celebration of Holy Mass, which we shared together as a community.
Following this, we were treated to a lovingly prepared dinner. The atmosphere was joyful and relaxed, filled with games, laughter, and an evening prayer that gently brought the day to a close.
Later, we returned to our guesthouse, Stella Maris, beautifully located with a wide view overlooking the surroundings, a place of quiet after a full and rich evening.
On Saturday morning, we began the day with breakfast together, enjoying the gift of shared time. Afterwards, we returned to the Kehilla for morning prayer. Fr. Igino shared a message about the Journey of Faith of John the Baptist, the Patron Saint of the Kehilla in Haifa. This was followed by a lovely walk through the old town of Haifa.
From there, our journey led us to the House of Grace, a remarkable community that welcomes men who have been in prison and accompanies them as they rebuild their lives.
For our youth, this was not simply a visit, but an encounter with living testimony that faith restores and that new beginnings are possible. All of us were deeply touched by the words of its director, Jamal Shahade. It was an honour to also get to know his mother, Agnes, who founded House of Grace together with her husband, Kamil.
Later in Nazareth, Bishop Rafic gave us a heartfelt welcome and shared his own journey of faith. His words carried depth. What our youth encountered was a life visibly shaped by love for Jesus.
There was something unmistakable in these moments, a deep love for and from Christ.
Through this journey, our young people are discovering:
- Their lives are not separate from the story of Jesus.
- Their questions, their struggles, their hopes - they belong within it.
And so, we continue on the road.
With them.
Among them.
For them.
