Retreat for Confirmands from Tel Aviv

On Saturday, May 16th, twelve candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation, accompanied by their parents, Br. Luca, and Fr. Piotr, took part in a day of retreat in Jaffa, preparing their hearts for the sacrament.

The retreat brought together the young candidates for a day of prayer, reflection, and community. Walking through Jaffa, the group stopped at two parks where they held moments of teaching and sharing. The sessions focused on the Holy Spirit and the life of faith, as well as on an examination of conscience in preparation for the Sacrament of Penance.

Each participant received a copy of the New Testament, encouraging them to deepen their personal encounter with the Word of God. The day also included a simple picnic lunch and moments of silence, offering space for personal reflection and prayer.

The retreat concluded with the celebration of the Eucharist at St. Peter’s Monastery in Jaffa. In his homily, Fr. Piotr reflected on the words of Jesus at the moment of His Ascension: “Behold, I am with you always, until the end of the world.” He invited the candidates to recognize the living presence of Christ in His Church and in their daily lives.

We express our gratitude to the Parents’ Committee and to Fr. Apolinary for their support and organization of this meaningful day.
