We publish here the brief address of Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Fouad Twal at the international conference to honor the memory of Pope John XXIII, held in Jerusalem on April 29, 2013.

The Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, together with his Auxiliary Bishops and all the priests and faithful of the Diocese of the Holy Land, learning the news of the Pope’s resignation, welcome with much gratitude the courage, moral wisdom and humility of Pope Benedict XVI, who has served with dedication the Church for nearly eight years.
