Jerusalem Community Retreat Day

On December 13, about 35 members of the Jerusalem Community came together for a special day of study, prayer, and spiritual preparation for Christmas. The retreat took place at the German Hostel of the Sisters of Charles Borromeo in the German Colony.

Fr. David Neuhaus offered a profound lecture on the prophetic dimension of the Virgin Mary, Mother of the Messiah, drawing from key biblical and New Testament texts.

The day began with an interactive activity led by Fr. Benny, inviting participants to choose a card that resonated with them and share their reflections.

After a time of quiet prayer and reflection, with the opportunity for confession with three priests, everyone enjoyed a hearty lunch together.

In the afternoon, Fr. David guided group work on prophetic texts - exploring their historical context, the prophet’s intention, and their meaning for us as Christians today. This exercise sparked deep insights and mutual learning.

The retreat concluded with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper in the beautiful chapel of the Sisters.

We give thanks to God for this blessed day - a true experience of “brothers dwelling together in unity.”
