Visit of Condolences at Zianda Family

On Monday (13.01), Fr. Roman traveled with an interfaith group of Druze, Jews, Muslims, and Christians to Rahat to bring comfort to the Zianda family who lost their two sons, Yosef and Hamza, who were hostages in Gaza.

Members of the Israel Religious Leaders Forum, together with members of the Negev Interfaith Initiative, wanted, on behalf of all people who believe in God, to express their sorrow for the deaths of Yosef and Hamza, to unite with the mourners, and to comfort them.

Fr. Roman mentioned the parable of the Good Samaritan, in which we hear of a Samaritan who saves the life of a Jewish man, even though at that time relations between Samaritans and Jews were not always good. And he mentioned that Jesus taught us to care for and help each other no matter what religion, nation, or people we belong to.

Fr. Roman expressed his sorrow that this time we were unable to save the lives of Yousef and Hamza and said that we came to support their family and ask ourselves what we can do to save the lives of others and of course to pray that God will help us find the right path.
