Summer program kick-off

The school holidays have started, and this year’s summer program was kicked off with an invitation by the Passionist fathers to their monastery Santa Marta in Jerusalem. 20 Youth from Tel Aviv came together for a Filipino cooking session, kindly instructed by Ms. Bhea Tabuso from our family ministry. We learned to prepare a vegetable dish – Pinakbet; a chicken dish -Chicken Adobo; and Biko for dessert. A delicious start to the summer indeed, which we were lucky to enjoy in pleasant weather in the garden of the monastery ground.

For the upcoming weeks, we are looking forward to a series of cooking lessons in co-operation with ‘kitchen talks’. We will learn how to cook dishes from around the world and will have a cooking challenge at which we will have to create our own recipe from a limited number of ingredients.

In addition, we will have a week of music rehearsals and band performance. We are looking forward to the holiday camps and more fun and games in the next weeks. Yeah, summer has officially started!!
