Young Adults Weekend in Latroun
A Time to Breathe, Grow & Encounter Christ
Life moves fast. Between work, studies, and responsibilities, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But what if you could pause - just for a weekend - to breathe, reconnect, and refocus on what truly matters?
That’s exactly what this Young Adult Weekend at the Jesus Brotherhood in Latroun was about. It’s not just another retreat; it’s an invitation to step into a space of faith, fellowship, and renewal. Together, we reflected, prayed and created, deepening our journey with Christ in a way that feels real, refreshing, and life-giving.
From the moment we arrived on Friday afternoon, we felt the shift away from the noise, into peace. After settling in, we gathered for a warm welcome by the Community of the Brotherhood of Latroun, followed by a shared meal (because nothing brings people together like good food! Thank you, Elizabeth, Sr Veronika, Sr Babette).
Then came our Theme Night: Work & Vision of St. James Vicariate. It was a creative and interactive session that got us thinking about our purpose, followed by celebrating the birthday of Elena and an evening of Taizé prayer in the chapel led beautifully in music by Sinéad and Chiara. A chance to let go and rest in God’s presence.
Saturday began with morning prayer led by Tomer and Nadav, inviting us to start the day with stillness before diving into encountering the Word: a time of personal reflection, led by Fr Piotr, walks through nature and deep conversations. Whether we came with big questions or just a desire to listen, this session was about letting Scripture speak into our life.
After lunch where Fr Benny joined us (and a well-earned siesta), we moved into a session of faith and creativity designed by Danielle and Monika: Through group meetings, we explored what it means to express faith in a way that’s personal and real.
As the day closed, we came together for Holy Mass celebrated by Fr Piotr, a final moment to receive and be sent out. Blessed, renewed, and ready to bring this encounter with Christ into our everyday lives.
