Patriarch Bartholomew at the Hebrew University


On December 6, 2017, Greek Orthodox Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople received an honorary doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Patriarch Bartholomew was in Jerusalem in order to participate in a congress organized by the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople and the International Jewish Committee for Interreligious Consultations (IJCIC) on the significance of Jerusalem in the two faith traditions. This congress included a keynote address of Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III on the historic place and role of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
