Hebrew mass in the empty tomb

Father Rafic, responsible for the Jerusalem kehilla, reports on the celebration of mass in the Church of the Resurrection on Friday, May 5, 2017.

Ten days before Easter, some members of our kehilla met on the site of Golgotha (the place where Jesus was crucified) and we celebrated mass. Last Friday, about twenty days after Easter, we met again in the Church of the Resurrection and celebrated mass on the site of the empty tomb, that is in the place where Jesus rose from the dead. We were 18 people, not only members of the kehilla in Jerusalem but also two Little Sisters of Jesus from the convent at the Sixth Station of the Via Dolorosa, as well as a few pilgrims and local Christians who joined us. The walls of the tomb were shining after the restoration works that had been carried out in the past few months, however, more than the walls, our hearts were filled with light and radiated joy to be at the very epicenter of the earth, the place from which grace pours out for all the dwellers on the face of the earth.
