House blessing in Beer Sheba

Traditionally in Beer Sheba, after all the Christmas and Epiphany celebrations (Western and Eastern rites), the priests bless the houses. This year, Father Piotr together with Father Rafic, the priest responsible for the Jerusalem kehilla, blessed about fifteen houses. Arab and Filipino parishioners are used to this form of pastoral care.

A prayer for the families and talks about spiritual issues, as well as topics like transmitting the faith to the children, personal piety, religious celebrations at home were very often accompanied by sharing food and singing together.
