It is clear, in this respect, that the Spirit of Jesus can be received only on the strict condition of sharing the hope of Israel and having access to it. This is the meaning of baptism, since in baptism – according to Saint Paul’s expression – we are “incorporated” into Christ. But baptism is at the same time, and inseparably – otherwise it would be meaningless – an incorporation into Israel.
