For the World Day of the Sick
Nazareth – February 11, 2016

Our Lord Jesus, You are the face of the Father’s Mercy!

During your life on earth, You showed tenderness towards the suffering, and on many occasions you restored health to the sick, bringing joy to their families.

We came to Nazareth, and entered Your house, where Mary Your mother said the “yes” that changed the course of History, and you became Emmanuel, God with us! The sick from all over the world have come here to seek tenderness, hope and comfort.

In humility and need, we entrust to Mary, Your mother and our mother, our fears, sufferings, and loneliness so that You will turn them into a wine of joy, as the water at the wedding at Cana.

Immaculate Virgin, You are the Mother who sees the poverty of the sons who no longer have the wine of comfort and hope, and You are the brave woman that stays by the cross: we confide in you our wounds and those who take care of them. You, who tell us to “do whatever he tells you”, help us to obey Your Son generously. Hold us close to Your Immaculate Heart in order to sing with You the Mercy of God.

Health of the sick, pray for us!

Mother of Mercy, pray for us!

Saint Marie-Alphonsine Ghattas, pray for us!

Saint Mary of Jesus Crucified Baouardy, pray for us!
