On the dates of November 27 and 28, we, the members of Desert Flower, met up in Beer Sheba. We began the meeting with a lesson from Father Piotr, which was in continuity with what he had taught the last time we met. This time, the subject of the lesson was two very special people: Saint Faustina, to whom the Lord revealed how to prepare a painting of Him, and Pope John Paul II, the first non-Italian to become pope in 400 years, who was very connected to the people, who used to embrace people and feared no one. These two people are saints and the World Youth Day in Cracow will be held in their shadow.

After the lesson with Father Piotr, which left us with many thoughts and intuitions, we prepared a nice dinner. After the meal, Benny and Father Alberto put together an evening prayer. After that, we watched a movie and then went to sleep, ready for the next day.

The morning began with morning prayer, organized by Sinead, and breakfast. We then hastened to set off and went to walk in the Small Crater in the Negev Desert. During the trip, we broke into two groups with Father Apolinary and Father Piotr, who taught a lesson on the parable of the servant who is unforgiving (in Matthew 18). The lesson was linked to the theme of mercy – the main theme of the World Youth Day.

When we returned from the trip, we were tired and hungry, and we a tasty prepared lunch. After the meal we said farewell to some who had to leave already. For those who staid, Father Piotr taught a brief lesson on the readings of the Sunday mass. After the lesson the weekend drew to a close and each one set off for home. We all arrived safely and are waiting for the next meeting.
