We, the Saint Therese of Lisieux Filipino community in Rehovot, lent a helping hand to eight students from the Philippines who are here in Israel for their “On the Job Training Course” in agriculture at the International Center for Agricultural Training in Gedera.

The eight students arrived here in Israel last October 21, 2015 and were only given one pair of winter clothes plus 500 NIS each and had to pay for their flat, utilities, food and transportation. Inasmuch as they had not yet received their allowance from the Center and they ran out of money, we tried to help them by providing them with groceries, winter clothes (jackets and shoes) donated by our community members.

These students are from various universities in the Philippines and they will be undertaking this training course for one year. There are eight of them but only five were able to come for mass last Saturday, November 7, 2015, because they did not have the money for the transportation. They are now attending mass here in our community every Saturday.
