Visits of the Elderly in Beer Sheva Community

During his monthly visit fr. Roman celebrated the 97th Birthday of Anne-Ellaine.

This month the visits of the elderly and sick parishioners of Beer Sheva felt on the Solemnity of Assumption. Fr. Roman visited as usually those members of the community who are unable to participate in the Mass in order to pray together and to bring them the Blessed Sacrament. The last visit of that day was at Anne Ellaine's, who celebrated her 97th birthday. Coming from a French-Jewish family she came to Israel where she worked for years as an eye doctor. She spent most of her life in Beer Sheva where she was a dedicated parishioner helping the priests in their difficult pastoral work in the Negev Desert.

During the meeting with fr. Roman Anne-Ellaine several times recounted that this visit symbolizes the visit of all the relatives and friends who living far away and not being able to come that day connect with her spiritually. "I was happy that I could celebrate this special day with Anne-Ellaine" - says fr. Roman - "The members of our community in Beer Sheva had the opportunity to see her on the International Day of the Elderly which took place at the end of July. Out of four oldest members of our congregation Anne-Ellaine was the only one who was able to visit the congregation that day. Three other members were too weak to do it. Of course, for all the members of St. Abraham's it was a great joy to meet with Anne-Ellaine and to pray together."
