On Friday, December 1, 2017, a short documentary was screened on Israeli television, "Here is the News”, about Father Romuald Jakub Weksler-Waszkinel.
Father Jakub describes himself as a “baby taken captive”, a concept that has its origin in rabbinical literature. A “baby taken captive” constitutes a category of Jews that are not considered fully responsible for not keeping the commandments of Jewish law because they never studied and thus do not know what is right and what is wrong through no fault of their own.
