Security Workshop by Agiamondo
In a significant step towards enhancing the safety and preparedness of community service workers, a Security Workshop was held from April 30th to May 1st, 2024, in Beit Jala. Organized by Agiamondo, the workshop was spearheaded by Ulrike Hanlon, the coordinator for Israel Palestine, and brought together CPS workers along with delegates from partner organizations such as Combattants for Peace, Holy Land Trust, House of Grace, and the Vicariate St. James and Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem. Representatives from SJV and LPJ, including Danielle Maman, Sara Woldesemaet, Katrin Tal, and Monika Faes, engaged in a comprehensive program covering communication strategies, risk analysis, and emergency procedures, with a focus on earthquake preparedness and evacuation plans. Security advisor Franziska Heizmann led the intensive sessions, while Christoph Schlimpert conducted a pivotal segment on Digital Security, highlighting the importance of safeguarding information in an increasingly connected world. The workshop also featured interactive group activities, fostering teamwork and collaboration, exemplified by a memorable tower-building competition. These activities, coupled with personal interactions and shared meals, provided valuable opportunities for discussion and the strengthening of community ties. This workshop marks a proactive approach to security, equipping those at the forefront of community service with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of modern-day challenges.
